Support for the special campaigns shown is sincerely appreciated by University of Wyoming student-athletes and coaches, and benefits the overall Department of Intercollegiate Athletics Department. Gifts to these programs are counted toward a donor’s priority point total through their lifetime giving total.
Wyoming Athletics has created a culture of Excellence, Pride, and Tradition which has proven to be successful in the Mountain West Conference. To provide our athletes with the finest practice facilities and competitive venues, Wyoming Athletics is launching its second phase of facility upgrades. Completed projects that took place during the first phase included the Indoor Practice Facility, installation of the Jonah Field turf, renovations to the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex, Memorial 8 Track, UniWyo Sports Complex, and War Memorial Field House. Additional finished projects include additions to the east side entrance into War Memorial Stadium and Warburton Plaza, the Wildcatter Stadium Club & Suites, and Tennis Facility. Future projects that will require the largest athletics campaign in school history will include; upgrades and renovations to the Arena Auditorium, a new competitive swimming and diving facility, an indoor state-of-the-art golf training facility, Rochelle Athletics Center improvements, wrestling facility upgrades, renovations to the lower west side of War Memorial Stadium and installation of lights at the Madrid Sports Complex.
Endowment Gift Opportunities
An endowed gift, which must be at a minimum $25,000, makes a major impact on Wyoming Athletics for years to come. Whether it is an endowed scholarship or an endowed enhancement fund, gifts of these types are a great way to honor someone or leave a legacy at the University of Wyoming.
Life Insurance Policies & Planning Giving
Life insurance policies are a great vehicle to use to maximize a long term gift, while paying only a small portion of the overall benefit. In 2008, the Cowboy Joe Board of Directors approved that all life insurance policies provided to the Cowboy Joe Club will give up front priority points for the value of their policy beneficiary amount, minus inflation. So a donor can greatly increase their priority point status today, by setting up a life insurance for the Cowboy Joe Club’s future.
Planned gifts through a trust, will or retirement fund are also great vehicles for donors to receive tax benefits today, while guaranteeing future financial support for the Cowboy Joe Club in the future. There are several different ways to set-up a planned gift, and the University of Wyoming has the staff in place that can help any donor with their decisions.
The media partners program, organized by the UW Marketing Department, allows donors to give advertising gift-in-kind for season tickets, priority parking and Cowboy Joe Club membership and benefits. Advertising currently sought after includes radio, newspaper, television, and billboard advertising.
Corporate Support and Sponsorships
University of Wyoming Sports Properties (WSP) is the multimedia rights holder and sports marketing arm for athletics at UW. In addition to the radio broadcast programming for UW Athletics, WSP has the exclusive rights for corporate sales of advertising, event sponsorship, game promotion, signage, publications, athletic trademarks and logos, cross-retail promotions, and overall marketing and development of www.wyomingathletics.com. While sponsorships do not count toward your priority point totals, it is still a great way to identify your business as an official partner of Wyoming Athletics.
